Stalham charity match

Posted by: Sarah Thomson, 28th March 2006 09:00AM

After a prolonged spell of bad weather, the days leading up to this match were a lot milder and this made fishing for more anglers a lot better.

Barford lakes would like to give a great big thank you to Barry and Val Burlton for their efforts in organizing what is their final charity match, it takes a lot of hard work organizing an event like this, and after 9 years of running the event they both felt this would be their last year.

The amount raised for the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity was £1700 which in today's world is a great achievement, and thanks to the anglers supporting the match.

Final Silver Fish Match

Posted by: Sarah Thomson, 28th March 2006 09:00AM

The final silver fish match was contested on one of the windiest days of the year, however the fishing(considering conditions) was excellent. (see results in 'match result' section).

The silver series has been very successful and have always attracted a vast array of anglers from Bob Nudd (4x World Champion) to the once in a while club angler, however because the pleasure lake is very consistent, any peg can win.

From 1st April matches will still be run on Tuesdays, these will be mainly held on the Match Lake or Willow Lake (please check the What's On section). More details to follow.....

Below is the winner from the final Silver FIsh match, Tony 'Zorro' Anderson with a weight of 32lb 14oz from peg 17.
