Yesterday 12 year old Robbie Kilgallon (Long Stratton) had an great day's fishing on the Match Lake as part of an Angling4Success alternative curriculum day. Robbie caught 4 carp to 10lb 7ozs and caught all his fish mid-water on a pole with banded 6mm Barford pellet whilst feeding 2mm over the top.

North West Versus East Anglia

Sept 09 North west Sept 09 East Anglia

After the previous month's battering the North West returned to Abbey Waters for a re-match. Antony Davis (North West) returned from Manchester with his own fishing tackle and blamed last month's previous efforts (one fish) on the dodgy pole and plastic box we lent him (what was the phrase about a carpenter?).

Returning with the confidence that your own box and a bump bar provide Antony was slow to kick off his swim. It looked like an East Anglian triumph again as me and Jamie caught fish early on. It was all quiet on the North West bank.... Until Antony found some fish down the edge and caught continuously for the last hour and a half at which point the banter improved!

Above is Anthony with one of the fish from his 68 - 15 catch which won him individual glory.  Jamie Miller came a close second with 68 - 5 and I came third with 50lb and with Michael (North West) failing to weigh in crowned East Anglia as the winner in the pairs (again)!!
