We had four guys from the FitzRoy Charity (Fekenham) come along for a 2
hour taster session on Thursday. Was a great session which I enjoyed
nearly as much as them!

What a great day. FitzRoy a
charity working to transform the lives of people with learning disabilities,
helping them live more independently at home and in the community, visited the
brilliant Barford Lakes.
Four of our members Perry, Danny, Chris and Tom
anjoyed a bespoke training session with Sarah, with just the right amount of
training followed by a fabulous fishing experience on Barford's Training Lake.
After a morning session teaching the basics and
catching roach, perch, gudgeon, crucian carp, rudd, skimmer bream and even an a
slimey eel, we had a health packed lunch then back to the lake where they all
caught big fish, the shreeks of joy could be heard all over Barford.
Everyone including the support staff Andy and
Kevin had an amazing day and by the time we returned to the day centre
the fishing tails had already started.
I would thoroughly recomend 'an
experience' at Barford Lakes as a learing and sensory activity and
would like to thank Sarah and Jack for making everyones day very
special.

We will be offering Day Ticket fishing at one of our match Lakes - Colton Lake, on a Tuesday. We should be able to offer this most Tuesdays please call 01603 759624 to confirm - will try and pop the dates on the Whats On section.
Please still purchase a ticket from the shop at Barford Lakes from 8am. The first date will be this Tuesday 18th June.
Day Tickets this Weekend
Thankfully
the weather's been more summer like this week! The fish have had a bit of
a spawn this week, but will be all finished by Saturday and hungry! We
have the Pleasure and Match Lake open for Day Tickets on Saturday.
Cafe
The
cafe is still open from Thursdays - Sundays 8am until 11.30am - we recently got
awarded a 5* grade (top marks!) for our Food Agency inspection. Jeanie
our new cook this year previously cooked at the Barford Cock and also cooks at
the Marlingford Bell.
We've
can cater for co-operate days from £15 a head including bacon roll on arrival
and lunch half way and fishing included, thorugh to just breakfast's on arrival
and fishing from £13.
Fathers Day Offer
Although
unfortunately we can't offer any fishing on Fathers Day we are offering a
voucher offer for Fishing and Breakfast for £10! These can be pre bought
and posted to you so Dad's can have them in their cards. Please call me

We are open for day tickets on bank holiday Monday 27th May from 8am till 11:30am. Please attend to the shop and buy ticket before fishing.
The shop will be open from 8am till 11:30am. Last day tickets in by 11:30am, tickets will be checked throughout the day.
The Open Match on the Match Lake will draw at 11am with fishig from 12pm - 5pm
Top Lake and Pleasure Lake down barford are avaliable to fish and will be open till 7pm.
