In conjunction with the Angling Trust and the County Angling Action Group (CAAG), Norfolk’s first Inter Schools Fishing Championship was run yesterday at Barford Lakes.
This annual team event saw 44 anglers competing on all 3 lakes at the Barford complex. The 3 hour match was well supported by sponsors and helpers and the top 3 individual and teams and section winners received tackle prizes, trophies and medals.
The top and last placed teams were also invited back for a match training session from the current Fish O Mania champion Warren Martin (Barford Tackle/Matrix sponsored), a local angler from Lyng who recently won the prestigious title.
Barford Tackle sponsored the young anglers with pellet and the CAAG group donated some maggots for the event. Many thanks to the helpers and coaches who gave their time on the day.
Norfolk’s County Angling Action Group (CAAG) meets every 2 months and the next meeting is in August held at Bartles Lodge Fishery, Lyng. The CAAG is open to anyone interested in organising angling coaching events in Norfolk and to join in please contact the local angling development officer Jonathan Wilson on 07854239725 or jonathan.wilson@anglingtrust.net.
