Barford Lakes Charity Match 2003

Posted by: Sarah Thomson, 30th August 2003 08:25AM

The annual Charity Match on 16th July was fished by Bob Nudd and 70 other anglers.  All the peg fees and ticket costs were donated to charity and all anglers who took part gave generously to the raffle in order for us to raise £1,300 for the Quidenham Children's Hospice.

We had a brilliant day's weather which everyone enjoyed and there was an exciting finish to the match.

Young angler, Matt Ducker (Wymondham) was pegged next to the 4 times world champion Bob Nudd, and although nervous, held his cool, and his form to take the honours!!

Andy Flint (Sinkers AC) also had the privilege and pressure of fishing next to a world champion and came 6th overall with 81lb 1oz. Andy is shown in action below:

Marti Hall, pictured above, (Sportsman's AC, Jolly Boys AC and Fox Match Triangle) fished peg 13 of the Match Lake and had a good day, finishing 3rd overall with 102lb 8ozs.

Tom Seaman (Daiwa/Angling Direct), below left, was on peg 8 in the Pleasure Lake and was Section winner with 34lb 10ozs. Peter Schoene (Jewson's AC), below middle, was on peg 3 on the Match Lake and came in as section winner with 67lb 2ozs.

But congratulations again go to Matt Ducker. He had a great day and thoroughly deserved to be the 2003 winner of the Barford Lakes Charity Match with 116lb 11ozs.

Many thanks again to Bob Nudd for taking the time to be part of our 2003 Charity Match and big thanks to all the donators, sponsors and helpers.
