The Four day  Festival fished over four lakes, Willow, Railway, Colton and Barford Match Lake.  We had 52 anglers fish this year.

Congratulations to local angler Matt Wiles (Wensum Valley Angling) who won with an impressive 3 section wins and a 3rd.  One point behind was young angler Will McCranor who fished a good festival and had 2 section wins, a 2nd and a third.

Thanks so much to all who came this year, was great fun as ever.  Big thanks to The Work Party guys, the local anglers who helped get the lakes looking more presentable, it's been a bit of an understaffed struggle this year - your help was very apprecited!

For those that didn't realise and wondered why - we charge a buffet and admin fee for the 4 day festival.  This fee covers the food and drinks we have at the end, which takes most of the day to prepare!  The Random Pairs voucher - a bit of fun event to give all the anglers in the table a chance of taking an envelope home!  We advertise the festival as 64 anglers (16 on each lake).  If we're short we adjust the payouts accordingly but try to keep the payouts as close to advertised as possible - we use the remaining admin money to bump these payments up.

The Random Pairs was won this year by Ray King and Steve Porter with a cumulative weight of 535lb 11ozs.  You both have a voucher for £40 in the Tackle Shop!  The results table can be found by clicking here

We've decided charity starts at home so have begun a Youth Angling Projects fund.  Big thanks to the guys from Leicester for their donation, Shane Trower, Andy Platten and Greg Twemlow who donated their shared section money and Matt Wiles for donating £50 from his winnings. Many thanks we raised £106 to go towards bait and rigs in order to keep our junior coaching sessions free of charge (they were always free it's just Barford Tackle and Lakes has sponsored them over the years lol).

4 Day Festival Draw

(Edited by: Sarah Thomson, 8th August 2016 13:29PM)

I am a little late with the festival draw this year - apologies.  We have 53 fishing and I will hopefully get the sesion draw done in the next day or so.  If you would like to give me a rough idea of what bait you need (maggot, caster and worm) and for what lakes I can then allocate your bait once the draw is complete.

We've been busy getting the lakes and pegs ready, big thanks to some of the guys who have gone to great efforts on the work parties.

Once the draw is done I'll post it up.  Lookling forward to seeing everyone.  The draw's are at Barford at 9.15am each day.  The Cafe and shop are open from 7.30am.
